Annual with Overtime: $0

How Salary Conversion Works

This salary calculator converts between hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual pay using your actual work schedule. The math is simple and deterministic — no AI, no approximations. Enter any one value, and all others are calculated from it.

The Formulas

Annual = Hourly × Hours/Week × Paid Weeks/Year
Monthly = Annual ÷ 12
Biweekly = Annual ÷ 26
Weekly = Annual ÷ 52
Daily = Hours/Day × Hourly

Paid weeks equals 52 minus unpaid weeks. Overtime is calculated at your specified multiplier (default 1.5×) for overtime hours worked each week, and added to the base annual salary.

Why AI Cannot Replace This Tool

Large language models frequently hallucinate salary conversion math — they misapply the number of work weeks (assuming 52 vs 50 vs 48), confuse biweekly with semimonthly, forget to account for unpaid time off, and produce inconsistent results across conversations. This calculator uses deterministic arithmetic with no hallucination, no variability, and no approximation. Every conversion is bit-exact and reproducible.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many work weeks per year does this calculator use?

The default is 52 paid weeks per year. If you have unpaid time off, reduce the paid weeks by entering the number of unpaid weeks. For example, 2 weeks unpaid = 50 paid weeks = 50× your weekly pay for the annual total.

How do I calculate my hourly rate from my annual salary?

Enter your annual salary into the Annual field. Enter your hours per week and days per week. The calculator divides annual salary by (52 weeks minus unpaid weeks) to get weekly pay, then by hours per week to get your hourly rate.

Is overtime calculated differently for salaried vs hourly workers?

In the US, FLSA rules require overtime pay (1.5× regular rate) for non-exempt employees who work more than 40 hours per week. Salaried exempt employees typically don't receive overtime. Use the overtime section if you are an hourly or non-exempt worker and want to see how overtime affects your total annual earnings.

What is the difference between biweekly and semimonthly pay?

Biweekly pay means you are paid every two weeks (26 pay periods per year). Semimonthly pay means you are paid twice per month (24 pay periods per year). This calculator uses biweekly (26 periods) because it is the most common. If you are paid semimonthly, divide your annual salary by 24 manually.

Does this tool account for taxes?

No. This calculator shows gross (pre-tax) salary conversions only. For take-home pay estimates, you would need tax brackets, deductions, and state-specific rules. We provide gross salary conversion as a pure math tool — no tax assumptions, no misleading estimates.

Can I use this for part-time or freelance work?

Yes. Adjust the Hours/Week field to your actual schedule. For freelancers, enter your average billable hours per week and your hourly rate. The annual projection will show your estimated annual earnings based on that schedule.

Does this tool save my salary data?

No. All calculations happen in your browser. Your salary data never leaves your device, is never stored on any server, and is never transmitted over the internet. This is 100% private. You can verify by checking the Network tab in your browser's developer tools.
