Word Cloud Generator

Turn any text into a beautiful, weighted tag cloud

Make a word cloud from any text in seconds. No signup, no watermark, no upload.

Paste a paragraph, an essay, survey answers, or a plain word list and this maker builds a weighted cloud right in your browser. Words that show up more often get bigger type. Pick a shape, a color palette, a font, then download a high-resolution PNG or a clean vector SVG. Everything is processed locally, so your text never leaves your device.

How to use this word cloud generator

1. Add your words

Paste any block of text and the maker counts how often each word appears. Or type a word list one per line. To force a specific size, add a weight after a colon - love:5 appears five times bigger than a plain word. Your text is processed only in this browser tab.

2. Style the cloud

Choose a shape (rectangle, circle, heart, star, cloud, diamond), one of ten color palettes or your own hex colors, a font, and how much rotation you want. Word size is scaled automatically between your minimum and maximum font sizes by real frequency.

3. Generate and check

Click Generate. Words are placed with a deterministic spiral algorithm that checks every word against the ones already on the canvas, so nothing overlaps. If a word cannot fit, it is reported as skipped instead of silently hidden. Reshuffle produces a fresh layout from the same words.

4. Export your image

Download PNG for a crisp image file (rendered at twice the preview size), or download SVG for a true vector that scales to any size for print or vinyl. Copy SVG puts the markup on your clipboard for pasting straight into documents, slides or code.

Why AI chatbots can't make your word cloud. A chat model can only describe a word cloud in words - it cannot render a real image with precise frequency-weighted font sizes, collision-free spiral placement and a clean shape mask. This tool computes the actual geometry and outputs a pixel-perfect PNG or a scalable SVG. The result is deterministic and reproducible, which is exactly what chat models cannot give you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a word cloud?

Paste your text or type a word list in the box on the left, pick a shape, palette and font, then click Generate. Words that appear more often get larger text automatically. You can download the result as a high-resolution PNG or a vector SVG.

Is the word cloud generator free?

Yes. No signup, no account, no watermark, no daily limit. Everything runs in your browser, so your text and the generated cloud never leave your device.

How does word size get decided?

Word size is proportional to how often each word appears in your text, scaled between the minimum and maximum font size you choose. Use a word list with weights (like 'love:5') when you want to control the size yourself.

Can I choose the shape of the word cloud?

Yes. Pick from rectangle, circle, heart, star, cloud or diamond. The words are placed with a spiral layout and then clipped cleanly to the selected shape in both the preview and the exported PNG and SVG.

Can I keep words out of the cloud?

Yes. A built-in list of common English stop words (the, and, of, is and similar) is removed automatically. You can also type your own words to exclude in the Excluded words field, separated by commas.

What file formats can I export?

You can download a high-resolution PNG (double the preview size) or a clean vector SVG that scales to any size without losing quality. You can also copy the SVG markup directly to your clipboard for pasting into documents or slides.

Does it work with any language?

Yes. Any text with spaces works, including accented characters and non-Latin scripts such as Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or Cyrillic. The stop word list is English, so for other languages you may want to add your own excluded words.

Why can't AI chatbots make a word cloud image?

A chat model can only describe a word cloud in words - it cannot render a real image with precise font-size weighting, collision-free spiral placement and a clean shape mask. This tool computes the actual layout and produces a pixel-perfect PNG or SVG you can keep.
