How to use this flashcard maker
Type a name and press +, or click a sample preset below. Paste a list using pipe, tab, or comma as the separator (one card per line). The deck appears in the left sidebar; click it to open it.
Review shows only cards that are due today (spaced repetition). Cram cycles every card in the deck regardless of schedule - great for a quick review before an exam. Test lets you self-grade without SRS updates.
Press Space (or click the card) to see the back. Then grade your recall: Again (1) = I forgot, see soon; Hard (2) = I struggled; Good (3) = I recalled it; Easy (4) = it was effortless. The algorithm adjusts how soon each card returns.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the spaced repetition work?
Every card has an ease factor (starts at 2.5), an interval in days, and a repetition count. When you grade Again, the interval resets to a few minutes and the ease drops. When you grade Good, the interval grows (1 day, then 6 days, then ease times previous interval). When you grade Easy, the interval grows faster and the ease goes up. The Review mode only shows cards whose next-due date has passed, so a 20-card deck might only have 3 due today.
Where are my decks stored?
All decks and progress are stored in your browser's localStorage under the key fcm_state_v1. Nothing is uploaded to a server. If you clear browser data or switch browsers, the decks disappear - use Export CSV to back them up. Each browser profile has its own storage.
Is this flashcard maker really free?
Yes. No signup, no email, no account, no paywall, no daily limit, no ads. Everything runs in your browser. You can make as many decks with as many cards as you want. The only limitation is your browser's localStorage (typically 5 MB, which fits thousands of cards).
How do I import cards in bulk?
Paste a list into the bulk input box using one card per line. The front and back are separated by tab, pipe (|), or comma. Example: hola | hello or 1 + 1 = 2, basic addition. Up to 200 cards per paste; press Add Cards to insert them all at once. Duplicate fronts are detected and skipped.
What keyboard shortcuts are available?
Space flips the card (front to back or back to front). The number keys 1, 2, 3, 4 grade the current card (Again / Hard / Good / Easy) once the back is shown. Arrow Left and Arrow Right move to the previous or next card without grading (only in Cram mode). All shortcuts work as long as the study area is in focus.
Can I export my decks?
Yes. Click Export CSV to download the active deck as a CSV file (front,back,interval,ease,repetitions,lastReviewed). You can also re-import the same CSV by pasting it back into the bulk input - the algorithm preserves the schedule when the separator and front match exactly.
How is this different from Anki or Quizlet?
Anki requires a desktop install and an AnkiWeb account for sync. Quizlet requires an account and limits free users to 8 decks. This tool is browser-only with no account, unlimited decks, and 100% private storage. The scheduler is a simplified SM-2 - close to Anki but not a full re-implementation. If you need rich media cards (images, audio, LaTeX) or multi-device sync, Anki is still the gold standard; if you need a quick, private deck for one subject, this is faster.
How accurate are the accuracy and streak stats?
Accuracy counts every graded card since the deck was created (or reset) - all four grades count as attempts, but only Hard/Good/Easy count as correct, Again counts as wrong. Streak is consecutive Good or Easy grades - any Again resets it to zero. These stats live alongside the deck in localStorage and reset only when you delete the deck.
